Digital Radiography (X-ray) Instead of regular dental film radiography
X-rays are needed to ‘look’ at parts of the teeth and the bone surrounding the teeth that cannot be seen directly. Visual observation of the teeth and gums, though valuable, only allows the surface to be seen. It is impossible to see between adjacent teeth where decay often starts, the depth of decay, the depth of fillings that are present, the distance between the nerve (the pulp of the tooth) and decay or filling, the bony support around the tooth, the presence of possible abscesses, etc…
Digital X-rays are taken using the same X-ray units as traditional X-rays. The difference is that instead of exposing film packages that must be developed, digital X-rays are read by sensors. Since no film needs to be exposed, and the fact that sensors are more sensitive, there is much less radiation needed. Also, the image is seen within a second or two. It becomes an integral and permanent part of the computerized chart. They can be enlarged, enhanced, colorized, inverted, scanned and e-mailed, but they cannot be lost.

Invisalign®
Invisalign® treatment uses a series of computer-generated thin clear trays that precisely fit over the teeth. These clear trays can be removed anytime to eat and allow normal brushing and flossing. Impressions are taken and sent to Align Technology where they are scanned into their computers. Also in the computers is the work of hundreds of orthodontists. A “clin-check” is e-mailed back to us for us to review, to make corrections or suggestions, to consult with our patients so they can visualize the progress and learn precisely how long the process will take before we elect to proceed.

Sapphire Plasma ARC (PAC) Lights
These lights feature thorough, even curing of composite filings in only 3 to 5 seconds! With no noise fan nor hot air blowing on our patients, the dual arch whitening technology takes less than an hour.

CAD/CAM Crowns and Onlays Done in one visit!
There
is a 12th computer system. It is called CEREC—short for Ceramic
Reconstruction. With this wonderful system, we will take a picture
using a special digital camera which sends an image to a computer on
which we design a restoration—either a crown or an onlay. The
information is then sent wirelessly to a special milling machine and a
crown or an onlay is ground from a block of porcelain.
The
advantages to our patients are that they get a magnificent fitting
beautiful all-porcelain restoration instantly. There is a huge saving
of time because there is no impression, no temporary to break or fall
out, and best of all, there is no need to have to return for a second
appointment. The porcelain that is used is especially tough and allows
us to save any existing tooth structure so that where many teeth would
be drilled down for crowns by other dentists, we were able to save one
or more sides of a tooth and bond in an onlay instead. This also allows
for better shade-matching and healthier gums.

Cerec One-Day Porcelain Crowns & Porcelain Restorations in a Single Visit
We
are very proud in this practice to be able to offer you—our
patients—the world’s most advanced dental restoration system. The CEREC
3D system makes it possible for us to manufacture lifelike porcelain
crowns and inlays right here in our office. The term CEREC is derived
from Ceramic reonstruction, i.e. the replacement of missing tooth
substance with ceramic material. Ceramics offer great advantages as a
dental material: they’re tooth-colored, translucent and biocompatible.
Previously,
tooth reconstruction required at least two or three appointments. Now,
with the CEREC 3D system, the whole procedure takes place in only one
office visit.
With a special electronic camera, we take an
optical impression of your prepared tooth. The image appears on a
computer screen, which allows you to view the process in action. The
restoration is then designed from a three-dimensional scan and
precision-milled from a porcelain block. The CEREC 3 imaging unit
incorporates a mobile PC, which has been specially approved for medical
applications and uses Windows-based CEREC 3D software. Because the scan
offers such exceptional detail, the CEREC 3D is able to create an
extremely accurate restoration, ensuring a marginal seal. There is no
gap through which bacteria can penetrate and cause dental decay.
The
restoration is almost as strong and long-lasting as natural dental
enamel. The ceramic material is biocompatible and will not be affected
by heat and cold, so you’ll be able to enjoy cold treats and hot drinks
with no sensitivity.
Due to its revolutionary technology, CEREC
is the clinically best-researched method of tooth restoration. And the
brand new CEREC 3D system incorporates the most modern technology to
ensure your smile is almost as new and natural as Mother Nature made it!
A new reason to smile is only one visit away!

Diode Laser Used for gum tissue corrections
Many
times, there is a need for minor surgical procedures to the tissue
around the teeth either to correct the shape or to remove inflammation.
Using the laser is much more precise, less invasive, allows for better
healing, prevents bleeding and sterilizes the tissue. It is simply
amazing!
The laser is the transmission of multiplied parallel
light energy through a very thin flexible insulated glass tube. The
energy is confined to the tip and only penetrates less than 0.2 mm (254
millimeters = 1 inch). All bacteria that come in contact with the laser
beam are sterilized. There is virtually no bleeding, and since there is
the immediate elimination of infection, the healing is much quicker.
