It is safe and formulated to prevent sensitivity. We do recommend using Sensodyne toothpaste 7 to 10 days ahead of your appointment to reduce the chance of any sensitivity. With any whitening procedure, there is always a chance of some sensitivity.

Lumineers & Porcelain Veneers
Lumineers are porcelain veneers that are ultra-thin—as thin as contact lenses. They provide the beauty and strength of regular, more aggressive porcelain veneers, but because they are so thin, less tooth removal is needed. Very rarely are injections of local anesthetic needed. They are great for patients with sensitive teeth.

Invisalign ®Treatment–Nearly invisible Orthodontics using aligners from Align Technology as seen on TV.
Few
can tell that you are wearing the aligners. Like all orthodontic
treatments, aligners may temporarily affect the speech of some people,
and you may have a slight lisp for a day or two. No metal, metal
brackets or elastics are used for this type of orthodontic treatment.
Clear comfortable trays made of thin, flexible plastic are fitted
snugly over the teeth. Within a week, slight movements of less than a
half millimeter occur and are stabilized for a second week. The trays
are exchanged every two weeks. Treatment times vary, but tend to run
similarly to that of traditional orthodontics.

What’s great is that the trays are easily removed before meals and at any time to allow complete cleaning. You’re also able to brush and floss all your teeth. Each set of trays are worn day and night for two weeks.

All-Porcelain Crowns and Onlays – done without impressions and in one visit!
We have wonderful technology that allows us to take a digital picture of a prepared tooth to then design the restoration on the computer and to then immediately mill the restoration (either a crown or an onlay) from a block of porcelain. We then promptly bond the restoration into or onto the prepared tooth. The whole procedure takes no more time required of other dentists who must take an impression of the prepared tooth and make a temporary that must be cemented.
There are many advantages to this technique:
- No second visit – saves time and prevents multiple injections
- Less tooth is removed – Without getting too technical, we are able to do more onlays and fewer crows because this type of porcelain is so tough. Onlays and new decay are removed prior to the taking of the digital picture. The sides of the tooth remain intact and not drilled away.
- Outstanding aesthetics – Since the sides of the tooth remain, the color matching is perfect. In addition, this type of porcelain also reflects the color of the surrounding healthy tooth.

Bonded Tooth-Colored Fillings
We do not use silver amalgam ever in our practice. We do not believe that existing silver restorations that contain mercury are poisoning our patients, but we do believe that there are much better materials available today. The biggest advantages to the new composite filling materials are that they closely match the shade of the adjacent healthy tooth structure, and they are bonded to the tooth. Because of bonding, bacteria cannot sneak down at the margin between the filling and the adjacent enamel to the softer dentin of the tooth where decay can start up unnoticed. It is the decay underneath that makes it so dangerous to leave old ill-fitting, mercury-containing, silver-colored restorations untreated.
